Four months have already passed this year and therefor it’s not strange to start thinking about VMworld!
This year, the event will take place in August (Las Vegas) and September (Barcelona), compared to previous years as the Europe event used to be in October.
First of all I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year! This post is dedicated to my personal highlights of 2014 and give you a brief insight about the things that have been keeping me busy and how my blog is doing at the moment.
This post is dedicated to our visit on Thursday afternoon to the VMware Campus in Palo Alto, San Francisco. The tour was offered by VMware and offered limited spots. The first 20 responses from European visitors would assure a spot in the tour. Two colleagues of mine and myself were lucky enough to earn a spot!

This morning the second general session of VMworld was given at Moscone North. It basically covered the same topics as yesterday, but with some extra sauce and flavours. Read on to find out what announcements were made.
This exclusive session brought by VMware for vExperts was about Hyper-Converged Infrastructure and contained information and a demo about the VMware EVO:RAIL solution.
This session brought by Fausta Ibarra and Wayne Greene, both from VMware, was all about the roadmap and missions for SDDC and the vCloud Suite. I will share the highlights of this session with you in case you missed it.
The first general session for this year’s VMworld just finished and brought us some interesting announcements and provided new and returning VMworld visitors insight into the vision and strategy of VMware. More then 400 unique sessions will be given this year!
This morning I had to get out of bed early for the 5K Fun Run/Walk after about 3 hours of sleep as we arrived in the hotel rather late and I was awake because of the earthquake that hit San Francisco. Everything was shaking and I honestly thought my neighbours were having a good time together, but mother nature was the cause of the noise!
After a long day of waiting, traveling, walking, eating and with VMworld 2014 around the corner, I’ve finally made it to my hotel bed getting ready for some sleep. But before I do, I would like to briefly share my travel and course of the day.
As the ticker on my blog indicates, in less then 4 weeks VMworld will be the center of attention in San Francisco! Whether you are new to VMworld or have been here before, there are always new things to discover, new people to meet and of course an amazing experience to be there!
